Product Overview

MealFlow is an AI-powered meal-planning platform designed to simplify the entire process of healthy eating. It combines personalized nutrition, dynamic meal planning, and automated grocery shopping into a single seamless experience. Users enter their personal details, goals, and preferences, and the platform instantly generates a complete weekly meal plan tailored to their lifestyle. Instead of forcing users to manually build meal schedules or calculate macros, MealFlow’s Smart Nutrition Engine handles the heavy lifting, adapting recommendations as users change goals or routines.

A built-in grocery integration converts meal plans into precise ingredient lists and allows users to shop instantly, ensuring convenience and reducing food waste. The overarching purpose of MealFlow is to turn nutrition from a daily frustration into an automated, flexible system that people can trust and maintain long term.

Problem Statement

Many people struggle with consistent nutrition because planning meals, tracking macros, shopping for ingredients, and balancing dietary preferences is time-consuming and mentally exhausting. People often don’t know how much they should eat, how to balance meals, or how to adjust when schedules change. Grocery shopping becomes another pain point calculating ingredients, avoiding waste, and ensuring nutritional compliance adds to the burden.

Moreover, popular diet apps often demand tedious manual logging or offer rigid meal plans that don’t adapt to real life. There’s a real need for a nutrition tool that combines personalization, flexibility, automation, and ease one that supports a variety of dietary and lifestyle preferences without making users feel controlled or constrained.

MealFlow aims to fill that gap by automating meal planning, adapting to users’ lives, and handling grocery logistics all while letting users stay in control of what they eat and how they eat it.

My Role

On this project, I contributed as a freelance Product Designer. I was responsible for transforming MealFlow’s concept into a usable, polished, and user-centered product.

My scope included:


  • Designing the onboarding and user input interfaces (body metrics, goals, dietary preferences).

  • Mapping user flows for weekly plan generation, meal editing, and schedule adjustments.

  • Creating clear and intuitive UI for meal plans, nutrition tracking, and the weekly calendar view.

  • Crafting grocery list generation, shopping integration flows, and edge-case handling (e.g. skipped meals, dietary changes, budget constraints).

  • Collaborating with developers to ensure UX logic aligned with the AI and data model constraints — especially around dynamic recalculation of macros and meal plans.

My aim was to make MealFlow feel friendly, flexible, and trustworthy turning a complex backend algorithm into a human-centered, everyday nutrition tool.

MealFlow solves these challenges by offering an integrated, intelligent system that spans meal planning, nutrition calculation, and grocery logistics all personalized to each user. When a user signs up, MealFlow gathers their body stats, goals, dietary preferences, and activity level, then computes recommended daily calories and macronutrients with its Smart Nutrition Engine.

Based on those targets, the Adaptive Meal Plan Generator builds a full weekly meal schedule. The user chooses how many meals per week they want, and the plan adapts to their lifestyle: whether they cook daily, meal-prep for days, are on a budget, or want variety.

Finally, the system remains flexible: users can edit any meal, swap dishes, skip days, or regenerate plans anytime. This gives full control while preserving convenience, making healthy eating attainable, sustainable, and adaptive to real life.
